Hello Love, Lucky Me!

Hello.  I am back today with another two page layout.  I used the
Simple Stories collection A Charmed Life mixed with elements
from other collections.

Inspiration for this layout came from the sketch at Let's Scrap. Unfortunately,
I was not able to create with it in time to link it up, but I will sure make sure
to stop by and let the DT at Let's Scrap know that their sketch inspired me.

#TBT Turks and Caicos

Hello!  As promised, here is another layout using the Fancy Pants Office Suite Collection. The colors in this collection worked perfectly with our family photo session when we were in Turks and Caicos back in 2011 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.  I think I was waiting for this collection to scrap these (wink wink).

Thank you, Lisa for you help with photographing two page layouts!  The collage method worked wonderfully!!

Inspired by the sketch from Scrap Much?
Thanks Laura for the inspiration!!

On the Map with YOU!

Hello Ladies.  Took a little time off from blogging to catch up on life and some scrapping.  I had so many pictures that I just wanted to get in albums.  So this weekend I got to it.  I scrapped 30 layouts and a few pocket pages - very simple scrapping.  But I am happy with them and now lots of my Christmas and Halloween pictures are out of piles and ready to be put in books.

Today I am sharing a layout created with the new Fancy Pants Office Suite Collection.  LOVE the colors and textures in the papers and embellishments.  Get yours at The Memory Nest and take advantage of our shipping deal.

Inspiration from this page is
from a fabulous Laura Whitaker sketch
from a Boys Rule Challenge.  Hmm, does
my hubby count?  He does rule!!

I will be back soon with more layouts using this collection.

More Make it Monday Inspiration

Hello!  Jane and I are back today sharing our layouts for the first MiM sketch for April.

My layout is about Happy Hour.  We call our FRIDAY spin class Happy Hour because it is the only class of the week that is an hour.  I knew I was going to be seeing my spin instructor later that night at Happy Hour.  So, I asked her if she would mind us taking a Happy Hour picture now and later.  Thank you, Wendy!  You were the inspiration for this sketch and layout!!!  And yes, that is what I look like in real life after spin.  Yikes!!!

Guest Designer, Margaret Crawford!

Hello Ladies.  I am thrilled to introduce you to our Guest Designer for the month of April, Margaret Crawford.  I have gotten to know Margaret and see all her wonderful creations over the last several months.  She is so kind and someone that I am thrilled to have met through our wonderful hobby.  Read below to learn more about her love for crafting and life experiences.

Margaret Crawford

Hi, Margaret here.

As a child sitting with my mother at her sewing machine as she sewed beautiful garments or as she knitted I was destined to follow her example and create with my hands.

After retrenchment in the late 80’s, from a major Australian bank,  I started my own business teaching patchwork and embroidery, doing commission work and the market circuit.  I had completed a Commercial Needlecraft Certificate at TAFE earlier.  I did this for 8 years and then went to work for another major bank – whilst there I completed a Certificate 4 in Training and Development, and spent a lot of time travelling Australia training staff on new systems.  Patchwork was just impossible to complete when travelling, so one wet and windy day I ended up at Papercraft store in Bendigo, Victoria.  My paper obsession began – both cardmaking and scrapbooking.

In 2008 I spent a year in China teaching English at a University and not long after I returned to Australia I left full time work.  Moving to the Central Coast  of New South Wales in 2014 has been inspirational. I want to make a difference – I know it is a cliché – but I love to see people’s reaction when they create something they never thought they could – be it a card or a layout.  I make scrapbook pages for charity and make cards for  Australian Defence Force troops overseas and other fund raising efforts..

My scrapbooking style has evolved, I still like to design around the photos and make them the focus of my pages, however I have stretched myself and delved into more mixed media pages – I think I have a long way to go and will continue to challenge myself to learn new techniques.
